This is the second Compound machine lab that i did this year. This was a fun and challenging lab because of all out design constraints listed below:
Design Constraints:
· The applied effort force is a trigger (such as a quick release and/or counterweight), as opposed to being powered by human input. Instructor may limit counterweight size.
· The final design raises a wheel of your choice 5 inches using a pulley system with an IMA of 2. The 2+ mechanisms upstream which are driving this action must include a lever and a wheel and axle, but feel free to add more.
· The compound machine must have a mechanical advantage greater than 1.
· Equipment is limited to the materials in the VEX kit and any supplemental equipment that the instructor may supply.
·Design must be safe (instructor defined) to operate.
